I founded the marketing, social media and WordPress membership site, TapDancingSpiders.com.

I also use Tap Dancing Spiders to freelance with organizations to increase customer engagement, branding, and sales using content and social media marketing. Clients include Microsoft Exchange, HP Helion, Chirpsy, Casey Family Programs, Real Food Grocer, and the Episcopal Diocese of Olympia. I have spoken at workshops and conferences on social media, marketing and photography, and coach small business owners on social media marketing.

SOCIAL AND CONTENT MANAGER

ThriftBooks via The Creative Group | Seattle, WA | 9/2017-4/2018

An initial house writer rotation being paid to write about books. I was the content creator and curator for an online second-hand bookstore; engaging their community on all things bookish. This was a remote, part-time contract establishing their organic content style and processes. My writing is on the ThriftBooks site and social media profiles, and also in my folio.

SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER

Community Health Plan of Washington | Seattle, WA | 6/2016-12/2016

In a six month contract via Creative Circle, I developed a member-focused social media strategy for Washington State’s not-for-profit health insurance plan. I also  implemented a media monitoring process, and provided event photography.

COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR

Episcopal Diocese of Olympia | Seattle, WA | 2/2015-5/2016

I lead communications and digital marketing for a diocese covering half of Washington State. I increased average organic facebook reach from 4% of page likes to 16% in six months, while increasing followers by 15%. I introduced marketing analytics and storytelling to drive engagement, and built a new WordPress website for the congregation audience. This was a part-time role while completing a Master of Communication.

MERCHANDISER

Expedia | Bellevue, WA | 11/2011-3/2013

I managed website sales and promotions for Expedia.com – the US point of sale. Focus markets included: flights, Las Vegas, California and Hawai’i. I also supported the public relations team, writing direct response and engagement copy for Twitter and facebook. Cumulative following at March 2013 was 1.6 million.

CAMPAIGN MANAGER

Marchex | Seattle, WA | 9/2010-11/2011

In my first Seattle role, I created and optimized search engine marketing campaigns for clients in Canada and the United States. I managed a 300-account portfolio, optimizing for lead generation and via Bing Ads and Google AdWords.

Twice I was awarded ACT awards for exceptional work training and coaching team members and international outsource partners. I also developed team-level performance reporting, and designed and conducted Google AdWords certification training.

EVENT DELIVERY MANAGER

I produced and promoted events and conferences for Australia and New Zealand’s largest financial services membership organization. I increased profit margins in the midst of the financial crisis and an organization restructure.

I managed the call center and mail house for a boutique direct marketing agency. I introduced a copy edit process, decreasing errors by 60%. I also increased campaign ROI through reporting and analytics. Clients included INVISTA/Stainmaster Carpet, Dulux Paint and Daimler Chrysler.
